2016 'Year of Farmers Self-respect' in Maharashtra:

·        The Maharashtra government will observe 2016 as the 'Year of Farmers Self-respect' in view of the prevailing drought across the state, said Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
·        He allocated 25,000 crore for various schemes in the Agriculture Sector.

NATIONAL:
Modi will inaugurate Krishi Unnati Mela:
·         Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurate three-day ‘Krishi Unnati Mela’ providing information on new farm schemes and technologies that will help farmers double their incomes within the next few years.
·         Modi will give away ‘Krishi Karman Awards’ to States and progressive farmers who have made outstanding contribution in the field of agriculture. He will also visit the theme pavilion and address farmers.

 NATIONAL:
SC allows pictures of CM, Governor in Government Ads:
·         The Supreme Court allowed the use of pictures of Chief Ministers, Governors and Cabinet ministers in the government's media advertisements.
·         The SC had earlier ruled that the advertisements could only have pictures of the President, Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India. The earlier order was aimed at removing the association between government policy and politicians.
